Drive systems
Sustainability
A focus on sustainability is at the core of our company.
Producing and recycling valuable raw materials and aggregates is what mobile crushing and screening is all about and Urban mining is having a positive impact on the ecological footprint. Throughout the years KT-Rent works with Keestrack, which is an active and innovative manufacturer, besides urban mining, in the quarrying, mining & aggregates industry.
These heavy-duty industries need very powerful drive systems. Keestrack keeps searching for alternative drive systems to decarbonize as much as possible.
KT-Rent is at the moment using mostly load-sensing Keestrack equipment but we are ready for the next level if customer demand is changing.
From load sensing hydraulics, to hybrid plug-in electric e-drives and also to ZERO drives: Full electric equipment without a combustion engine onboard. This way we want to protect the planet and save money at the same time.
Load sensing hydraulics
From the early start Keestrack introduced a load sensing diesel/hydraulic drive system which resulted in 25% fuel savings compared to competition. Today this system is still in use when choosing the conventional diesel/hydraulic drive.
E-drive and drop-off engine
Keestrack introduced hybrid electric plug-in drives already in 2012. The e-drive; electric plug-in machinery with onboard diesel/gen-set in case there is no electric plug-in available.
The e-driven crushers evolved to equipment with a drop-off engine/gen set unit in 2017, which can be placed next to the equipment, in less dusty and vibrant circumstances, or on the frame of the machine.
The interconnectivity between all mobile electric driven crushers, screens and stackers, result in lower operational and maintenance costs.
Zero drive
Keestrack introduced the ZERO-drive machines in 2022, without any combustion engines on board. Electric motors drive most of the mobile crushing and screening equipment and power some necessary hydraulics systems. Almost all equipment is available in ZERO-drive except for a few exceptions.

The ZERO-drive equipment can be powered completly by renewable energy in the most perfect situation but can also be powered by any generator or Keestrack tracked engine unit which can supply electricity to several machines at once.
At this point KT-Rent has no ZERO-drive equipment in their rental fleet but we are keeping an eye on the rental market. If the request rise KT-Rent will consider investing in this possibility.

Tracked Engine unit
The tracked engine/generator unit can supply connected Keestrack crushers, screeners and stackers directly with electricity in case there is no plug-in connection from the grid available. This way the economic advantages of the complete production train will rise due to using only one engine for several machines. The Keestrack tracked engine unit consist of a tracked undercarriage with platform and carries an engine compartment with an alternator, which can also be put on top of the bigger crushers' frame (drop off engine). Standard a 450 l tank is onboard, additional a 2.000 l tank can be placed on the platform for a higher autonomy.
At this point KT-Rent has no Trcked Engine units in their rental fleet but we are keeping an eye on the rental market. If the request rise KT-Rent will consider investing in this possibility.
Other benefits
Remote monitoring
It is a great tool to know the location and status of their machines in real time, 24 hours a day.
Fuel efficiency
We know our customers need exceptional power and performance, but they also want to lower their fuel costs and reduce their environmental footprint.
Cost savings
Due to lower fuel cost and manageable operational, maintenance and wear parts costs, KT-Rent can offer economic rental agreements.
Mobile technology
At Keestrack we understand how important mobility is to owners and operators, and this is reflected in the design and construction of our machines. Our aim is to minimize set up times, reduce overall weight and size, and get you up and running as soon as possible.
